Ayana Playle

Intern

Ayana holds a BA in Theatre and English from the University of Bristol. Her most recent research focused on ‘grotesque’ femininity and queer feminist studies. Based near Brighton, she is also a spoken word artist whose poetry reflects the challenges and joys of navigating life in her twenties. With humour and wordplay, she explores themes such as female friendship, the queer experience, and climate injustice. When not reading, writing, or performing, Ayana can be found listening to Kate Bush, experimenting with vegan recipes, or at the gym

Mission Statement

Founded in 2005, Linen Press is the only UK-wide feminist independent publisher.
At a time when female autonomy and rights are under threat, our books are important for the recognition and empowerment of the female experience.
We rejoice in the strength and originality of female and non-binary creative voices and champion those who are underrepresented and marginalised.
The collective background of our writers is a patchwork of cultures, countries, ages and writing styles as we share stories that speak to women across barriers and boundaries.
