Lynn Michell’s latest novel Run, Alice, Run was published this month by Inspired Quill. The first reviews are coming in and readers are clearly empathising with Lynn’s canny portrait of middle-age.
In her guest post on Write Note Reviews (link) Lynn discusses the blindness of the publishing industry to their middle-aged readers. Told by a respected agent that “books about middle aged women don’t sell” Lynn took up the gauntlet, refused to kill off her heroine, and was offered publication by several small publishers. The comments following Lynn’s post show women readers do want wise, funny, life-bruised heroines.
